Wish Upon A Wedding at The New England Aquarium in Boston

Dear Wedding Professionals and Creatives:


Wish Upon a Wedding is a non-profit that was created to celebrate the love between couples who are engaged or want to celebrate their marriage in an intimate setting with their closest family and friends. With help from wedding and event industry professionals, Wish Upon a Wedding grants wedding "wishes" to couples in need.

While planning this wedding is bitter sweet, I am very grateful and honored for this opportunity to help this very deserving couple from Easton, MA.  Heidi and Josh have a wonderful love story. She is sick, she has: Mitochondrial Disease, Autonomic Failure and is TPN Dependent.  The organization is able to grant these wishes thanks to the kindness, generosity and donations of industry professionals.  Because of the bride’s health we need to move relatively quickly. The wedding is April 23, 2017. The New England Aquarium is generously donating the venue and the catering. The couples only wishes were that their children be incorporated into the ceremony and the venue be near the water, so I was so thrilled that the aquarium was so willing and happy to be involved.

The Langham Hotel has kindly donated the honeymoon suite for their wedding night.

Now that we have a date set, I am busy reaching out to other wedding professionals to help make this very special wedding wonderful! Valentine's Day Wedding

Two years ago, my husband and I  had the honor of celebrating Valentine's Day with these two!  I planned and coordinated a little ceremony and reception for Soupany and Sam at Endicott College in Beverly, MA. Today we are holding Sam in our hearts as he has since had to say goodbye to his love.

We are grateful to Wish Upon a Wedding and all they do for couples who are experiencing unfortunate circumstances and the wedding professional who step up and offer their products or services, giving couples the wedding day that time, resources and situations might not otherwise allow them to share with their loved ones.  My role with this organization has been small but cherished. New Year, New Projects

So many excellent projects have come my way lately, I thought I should break my silence and let you in on some of the good things that have been keeping me busy. First of all and most recently The New York City Wedding Boutique has named me their exclusive wedding planner. I am excited about the direction this blog is going in and if you know any amazing New York City wedding vendors who have something to say but haven't taken the time or used the technology to create their own blog, this might be a smart alternative for them.



Suicide Prevention International which from now on I will refer to as SPI is hosting Walk For Life 2011 on May 7, in Riverside Park. The organization has enlisted my services to coordinate this charity event. If you know any survivors of suicide or anyone interested in becoming a team captain, it's a great opportunity to give back and raise money for a really important cause.



My use of facebook and time on twitter are finally paying off, and I shouldn't say finally as I've always found it extremely worthwhile but I will soon have measurable results. FitBrit's founder Paul Greenaway is a celebrity personal trainer. He appeared on the Martha Stewart Show in 2006 (we are still trying to get the clip, Martha, if you're reading this?!) and since then his clients have included David Bowie, Iman Abdulmajid and Lenny Kravitz. A dear friend has been working out with him for only a few months and has lost over 20 pounds already. FitBrit is a great business idea that is nearly ready to launch but fortunately for me he lacks social media skills. We are bartering social media skills for personal training. I am very excited even though after two session, I am quickly realizing how much work there is in workout. It's so not my strong suit but he's great at motivating and instruction. Should you choose to follow him on facebook or read his tweets you are supporting me as well. What is FitBrit? It's his revolutionary way of making personal training accessible and affordable for all demographics. He's created a series of videos tailoring the workout to your sex, age and lifestyle. You will be able to view these videos using your smart phone or iPad.

Paul keeps telling me I'll be skinny by summer which I've adopted as my motto. I created a plan on the subway ride into the gym yesterday which details my monthly goals and rewards. I plan to share my fitness progress publicly but I am still trying to figure out where that should live. Though FitBrit is a great options for brides who want to get in shape before dress shopping or the walk down the aisle, this might not be the place to air my workout woes.

Outside of the actual new brides (and groom) I've talked to and met with already in 2011, my favorite project of the year, thus far is Wedding Crashers. I have proudly partnered with Brooklyn Based to bring Wedding Crashers back to the Bell House for it's second year. Last year they did an excellent job of attracting great talent that was new and interesting. The event was very well received in general with many grooms in attendance. It had that Brooklyn vibe, which for those of you outside of New York, is a very good thing. There is so much new and exciting stuff on tap this year AND after the event guests will be transported (yes, literally) to an after party at The Green Building. I can't believe how many amazing vendors are on board already and we're still well over a month away. This will most certainly not be the last you read about this event, but meanwhile think: fabulous fashion show, amazing food and best DJ in the city.

While Tammy Golson Events has been diversifying, I want to assure you that I have never been more committed or excited about wedding planning. I've welcomed and embraced these new projects wholeheartedly, but what I am most grateful for is that they have allowed me the flexibility to continue doing what I love most, while giving back, getting in shape, staying structured in the off season and connecting with my colleagues. I am so fortunate for these opportunities and grateful to the friends and colleagues who are responsible for helping them come to fruition.

Wow, if you made it this far, you deserve a gold star! Thank you for reading this novel. I appreciate your interest in what I am doing. The diversity has been so interesting, I couldn't be happier.

Lucky Rice

Last week my work with City Harvest afforded me the opportunity to attend Lucky Rice's Grand Feast at the Mandarin Oriental Hotel at the Time Warner Center in Manhattan. This food lovers paradise was hosted by Lisa Ling. With tastings from the finest Chefs' in New York, I was happy to be a small part of this evening. With fantastic views of the Central Park, the participating restaurants shared their most interesting and delicious culinary inventions, as hundreds of hungry guests filled the ballroom.

Wish Upon A Wedding

I took so much away from Eventology. Grab a tissue and see what silenced a room of over one hundred women and brought many close to tears.

As the World’s first nonprofit wedding wish granting organization, Wish Upon a Wedding provides weddings at destinations across the United States for individuals facing life-threatening illness. It is a chance for couples to enjoy a very special day, without any thoughts of existing health issues, while surrounded by their closest family and friends.

Wish Upon A Wedding was not new to me, but watching this video repositioned this organization in my heart and I hope that I will have an opportunity to help in the future. Just another beautiful example of the lovely community we wedding professionals are lucky enough to be a part of.

Congratulations to the happy couple and all who helped make their wedding day happen!

American Heart Association Fundraiser

Congratulations to my friends for their fundraising efforts this weekend. Saturday Jennifer Senenko and Jessica Lupi hosted an event in their hometown of Nanuet, NY. They raised money for the American Heart Association in honor of their friend Allison Dunne who passed away unexpectedly last year from a heart related condition that was not detected.

Thanks to the technology of evite and facebook they had 110 people attend and raised nearly $8,000 through ticket sales, a silent auction, raffle prizes and a 50/50 cash raffle. The event was very well organized and I was amazed by people's generosity! Great job, ladies!

Sunday, my dear friend Heidi Weaver brought Uncorked to New York! Uncorked is a charitable wine dinner that was founded three years ago in Washington DC by wine enthusiasts Kris and Tracey Schroeder.

Brasserie Julien was an excellent partner in this effort. The upper east side restaurant was a lovely backdrop to a beautiful evening of delicious food, fine wine and great friends. Each course was excellent and the wines paired perfectly. Anu Karwa, the founder and CEO of Swirl Events was the knowledgeable master of ceremonies walking us through the wines from Austria, Italy, Argentina, California and France.

We enjoyed a Caramelized Pear Salad and Vache de Challais Feuilletage placed over baby arugula salad, candied nuts and balsamic reduction followed by Salmon Medallion With Seafood Crust Pan-seared medallion topped with baby shrimp, manila clams, sundry tomato crust served over warm haricot vert, leeks and citrus sauce. The sweet finale was Chocolate Marquise. The signature dessert, somewhere between a fudge and a mousse was served with vanilla bean sauce and sprinkled with crushed pistachio nuts.

Money raised will be donated to City Harvest, a local charity dedicated to feeding hungry New Yorkers.

Uncorked New York

A wine dinner to benefit City Harvest.

Inspired by a love of wine and and the need to make a difference, Uncorked was started in Washington DC as a way to enjoy a great food and wine experience while also benefiting the local community.

It has been such a success in the nation's capital, my dear friend Heidi Weaver decided to bring it to the Big Apple. On Sunday, October 4th, celebrate the fall and join us for a tasting of fine wines paired with fabulous French fare and a silent auction.

Calories for a Cause

Former colleague, facebook friend, creator & star of the one woman show Size Ate and veteran blogger: Marguax Laskey organized Bake for Hope, a bake sale to raise money to find a cure for breast cancer, in the cafeteria of The New York Times. Glad to support this important cause, I was happy to see many old friends. My miniature chocolate cupcakes were topped with pink icing and rainbow sprinkles and I dipped pretzel rods in pink chocolate. Hundreds of beautiful and delicious treats baked by many caring and generous employees + hungry and clearly sugar deprived journalists with sweet teeth (or is it sweet tooths?)= an incredibly successful bake sale raising $1470.42 for the Susan G. Komen fund.
