The Bell House in Brooklyn

Thanks to Robin and Elann for entrusting the coordination of their wedding day to us. It was a pleasure to see all the careful planning and their creativity come to life at The Bell House in Brooklyn! 

Robin got ready at her family home, the front door coordinated with her color scheme nicely and was a perfect backdrop for her dress.

The bridal party was all men, on both sides.

 They all looked dapper and were accommanied by the bride and groom's best friends.

The couple has many rescue dogs. They all dressed for the occasion and participated in the ceremony.

This is was the couples modern and creative nod to a traditional ketubah.

Naked Cake. Have you tried the cakes from Momofuko, this one had a nutela layer,  doesn't this looks incredibly decadent.

The groom was known to make frequent audio recordings of friends and family. One of his dear friends had a device and made a point to get every wedding guest to record a wedding day wish or personal message.


It was a great day make better by the couple's cool friends and family and of course their wedding vendors.

It was fun returning to The Bell House. We really appreciate how helpful and accommodating their team is.

The flowers were by The Little Glass Slipper.

Again the cake was baked by The Milk Bar.

We've been busy bloggers over at Brooklyn Betrothed this week and I just wanted to quickly write and say thank you to those who have been been by for a visit. It's an exciting new project I am so proud to be a part of. Since we've launched on Monday, the feedback has been incredible. This photo was taken at our dinner on Monday, by Kristina Hill. New Venue for Same Sex Weddings

As history is about to be made and same sex couples gear up to get married on Sunday. An alternative to the crowds and heat of City Hall is the brand new and stunning Porter Contemporary art gallery in Chelsea on West 28th Street. Owner and Founder Jessica L. Porter recently moved her space and in honor of the new address, Jessica celebrated with a name change (formerly Raandesk Gallery) and a brand revitalization.

These pictures were taken at the gallery's opening in June introducing A Portrait Apart, a gorgeous show not to be missed. If you are interested in the space for Sunday, another day or the art on the walls, let us know. The Gallery is a perfect venue for bridal showers, cocktails parties, wine tastings and more. Private viewings and artists talks can also be arranged.

Poppies and Posies at The Green Building

Sometimes it's better to know when to keep quiet and let the pictures speak for themselves. This is certainly one of those times. I remember the day when Sierra and Juliet of Poppies and Posies agreed to design the Wedding Crashers After Party at The Green Building. I was ridiculously, as in like Christmas Eve as a kid, excited they were on board. I am so grateful to this talented duo, they are both such wonderful women. They've been such huge supporters of my business, they get it with the capital G and their aesthetic is absolutely enchanting. Enjoy the eye candy.


This sign was one of Katie Fisher's designs of the day. She's another industry gem. More on her very soon.

The chandelier projected with light on the brick wall was the brilliant work of Levy Lighting.







The Green Building is like no other, this urban barn has crazy high ceilings, lots of natural light, custom built bars, a great vibe and they are in the process of developing their outdoor space.

Real Wedding: The Yale Club II

After Adriana and Doug's wedding ceremony, the couple stopped at Grand Central Station, a location significant to their relationship, an literally across the street from The Yale Club,  to take photos. The train station provides excellent backdrop for photos for couples who get married in Manhattan. If you are interested, request the professional photography permit early in your planning as they limit the number of permits issued each day.

Back at The Yale Club, Adriana changed from her wedding gown into her traditional Chinese dress for the tea ceremony. The Club suites are perfect for getting brides to get ready. Spacious and comfortable for everyone involved, bridal party, family and wedding professionals!

Hair stylist, Yuki and make up artist, Flora stayed to refresh Adriana's look.



Buttons and bustles take time. Be sure to allow enough time to get dressed.

The bride and groom serve tea to their elder relatives. The tea is prepared with lotus seeds and two red dates for two reasons. First, the words “lotus” and “year,” “seed” and “child,” and “date” and “early,” are homophones, i.e. they have the same sound but different meanings in Chinese. Secondly, the ancient Chinese believed that putting these items in the tea would help the newlyweds produce children early in their marriage and every year, which would ensure many grandchildren for their parents. Also, the sweetness of the special tea is a wish for sweet relations between the bride and her new family.

In exchange, the relatives offer the newlyweds gifts.

The Yale Club's outdoor space has great views and is perfect for pictures.

The Club's cake was adorned by sugar flowers created by Amy, the owner of Sugar Flower Cake Shop. The sugar flowers were designed to compliment the Calla Lilies in the bride's bouquet.





The Yale Club's food is delicious and  always well presented.



Timing toasts and significant dances is helpful for all your wedding professionals. It assures the courses are served hot, important moments are captured well and the flow of the evening is optimal for your guests.



Ahh, this planner's goal, a happy, relaxed bride enjoying her reception!
