Talking shop, social media and swapping stories with other wedding industry professionals is one of the perks of the job. Last night I met wedding photographer Joshua Zuckerman and his wife Lisa Draho. He, too, is from the Midwest originally. He has been shooting weddings for ten years. Lisa is working with Josh behind the scenes and has a keen sense of the demands small business owners face in this new decade. Three hours passed and it felt like five minutes. These three photos stood out to me after visiting Josh's blog for the first time.
Fortunate for couples choosing a wedding photographer, our industry has an abundance of talented professionals. After meeting with the photographer, looking at the pictures, talking to the references and comparing the packages are you still on the fence about who to hire?
Two pieces of advice:
1. Look at their other work, outside of the wedding portfolio.
2.Trust your instincts, do you feel good about this person? Would you feel at ease sharing the intimate milestones of your life with this individual? It will be easier for you to enjoy your day if you are surrounded by people you genuinely like, respect and enjoy. If you're comfortable and enjoying your day, it'll naturally make the pictures better!
If you're in New York City this weekend and want to meet three photographers at one time AND see how they photograph you check out this fun and unique Valentine's Day photo shoot opportunity.
