Spring Greetings

Hello,

I hope you had a wonderful Easter or Passover. It was amazing to finally enjoy some long overdue time outside this past weekend. As I am preparing for an exciting new project, some much needed time away and two really cool events in the near future, I thought I'd share a few images from the  beautiful and intimate wedding in Central Park that I had the honor of coordinating recently. The ceremony took place a little over a week ago at The Ladies Pavilion in New York City.  Rev Annie officiated the wedding with warmth, words and sincerity that is appreciated by everyone in attendance, myself included. Christopher Duggan photographed this wonderful couple and their lovely family. These pictures are courtesy of  Christopher Duggan Photography.

Have a wonderful week!

Intimate Wedding in Central Park

I have had the opportunity to help many international couples plan and coordinate their weddings in Central Park from abroad. Thanks to Reverend Annie this was an extra special wedding! She introduced me to Joanne and Kevin early on allowing me to take a larger role in the wedding planning.

These stunning hot pick peonies were the perfect pop of color, provided by the always fabulous G! Designs.

The couple's daughter=darling!

The ceremony was at Wagner's Cove in Central Park.

The ceremony was performed by the lovely Reverend Annie.

After the ceremony, the small group from Ireland headed to The Central Park Boat House to enjoy- one of my favorite things to do in New York City- a gondola ride.  There is only one gondola in New York and it was a gift from Italy. Both gondoliers are charming, but one is a great singer of Italian music which makes the experience extraordinary. It's a bargain, but I do recommend a reservation, especially if you're wanting a ride on the weekend or at sunset.

Joanne and Kevin's guests were treated to amazing views of the city skyline at sunset during cocktail hour on the terrace at Water's Edge Restaurant in Long Island City. Everyone moved inside for dinner.  The wedding cupcakes were provided by Haute So Sweet and their menus and place cards were designed by Ana Dolan.

Thanks to Heartfelt Foto for the gorgeous photos of a truly wonderful wedding.

Congratulations to Joanne and Kevin and thank you for allowing me to have a hand in the festivities.

xo,
Tammy

Surprise Wedding at Bow Bridge in Central Park

This bitter cold day in December was easily one of my I love my job days. My relationship with Get Married in New York couples is admittedly brief, yet very unique, albeit significant. When the bride and groom choose to exchange vows privately, I am often the one the bride hands her bouquet to, the person handing the rings to the officiant, a witness signing the marriage license and the first to congratulate the newlyweds. It's awesome, but especially wonderful when the couple and their story is as amazing as this one.

Big thanks to Sofia Negron who was filling in for Christopher Duggan. She captured this wedding and the couple wonderfully-- we had so much fun!

The Story:

After a four year courtship, Sarah and Anthony planned her first trip to New York City. Knowing Serendipity was her favorite movie, the film inspired the groom to propose to his long time sweetheart at Wollman Rink in Central Park. The on ice marriage proposal was followed by "that's not the best part-- we are getting married tomorrow!" A thrilled bride-to-be was guided through the busy streets of Manhattan to retrieve a marriage license, pick out her wedding bands and get her wedding gown (that was ordered by the groom from England--the bride got record fast, same day alterations!) This thoughtful chap planned for his fiance to have her hair and makeup done by professionals, too. Thanks to Get Married in New York, the Englishman was able to outsource the enlistment of an officiant, photographer, florist, their wedding day transportation and the over all coordination.

Their wedding:

The couple encountered this pedicab gentleman twice the day before the wedding. It was a happy coincidence that he was on duty and positioned at the entrance to the park most convenient to Bow Bridge and that he was available to transport the couple. I love examples of how our grand city can exude the charms of a small town.

An intimate ceremony at Bow Bridge was personalized by the words of wedding officiant Reverend Annie Lawrence.

Even on the coldest of winter days, Central Park can provide the most picturesque backdrop for couples who can weather the elements. Obviously an excellent photographer is to credit as well.

The Central Park Boathouse is in the background, another scene from Serendipity.

The couple stands proudly at the entrance of The Plaza.

They were such a fun duo with an amazing spirit, fantastic sense of humor and a genuine camaraderie. Sincere congratulations to Sarah and Anthony on their marriage and a special kudos to the groom for a job extremely well done! It was truly my pleasure to be a small part of your very special surprise wedding day!

Shakespeare's Garden

He did it again. Christopher Duggan made great photos of last week's wedding in Shakespeare's Garden in Central Park.

The technique of photographing the subject through an item was introduced to me a few months ago, Christopher executes this above beautifully.

Christopher and I had double duty on Thursday. We were Amanda and Phillip's official witnesses and signed their marriage certificate stating such. The London based couple's most intimate exchange of vows was very heartfelt.

So green and lush, one would not know we were in New York City.

Congratulations Amanda and Phillip!

Location: Shakespeare's Garden in Central Park
Photographer: Threshold Visions
Officiant: Witness Circle
Flowers: Flowers by Richard
